LifeSouth Blood Donor Center Opens in New Port Richey

LifeSouth Community Blood Centers opened a new donor center in New Port Richey and invites the community to come by and donate blood.

LifeSouth, the local blood center serving Moffitt Cancer Center, welcomes donors to the new center in the Shoppes at Gold Acres next to Michael’s, 9778 Little Road, open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

“We are excited to open our new donor center, in addition to having our red, white and blue bloodmobile out and about every day,” said Amber Johnson, LifeSouth District Director. “It is an honor to serve blood donors and help provide lifesaving blood to patients in need.”

In May, all blood donors will receive a $25 e-gift card and T-shirt as a thank you for donating. Platelet and double red cell donors will also receive a $40 e-gift card and T-shirt. LifeSouth is also offering complimentary A1c testing to all blood donors, giving donors the chance to learn if they may have pre-diabetes or diabetes, and more about their health.

Donors are always welcome to walk-in or schedule an appointment to donate. Donors of all types are needed, especially during winter months when donations decrease and the need for blood increases.
